Airplane-Pictures.net is a photo resource database that is dedicated to aviation, flying and air travel. We are very different from other aviation photo websites as we focus primarily on aesthetic qualities of the photograph as compared to the technical aspects. We love interesting, fresh and unique ideas.
Our mission is simple - to provide a publishing space for photographers that share our Think different ethos and present their brilliant photos to airline passengers, aviation professionals and enthusiasts.
This approach has allowed us to publish some of the most amazing aviation photos that can be found on the internet.
All content available at Airplane-Pictures.net was supplied by a crowd of Airplane-Pictures.net photographers.
Currently there are 7578 registered users of which 1443 are active photographers who publish with us. Our database contains 115566 photos that have been viewed in total more than 92 million times.

I first found my love for aviation at age five, after my first flight on an Airbus A330 from Manchester Airport. Then the hobby quickly expanded, I started going to the airport more frequently, taking the registrations of the aircraft. Then my grandad bought me a compact camera which in turn evolved into a DSLR. Now I frequently go abroad shooting exotic planes around the world.

I am living in Innsbruck, in between the Alps, Austria. With passion to photography since I was a child and the great opportunities for aviation pictures we have here, I began taking pictures of aircraft at the beginning of 2000. My goal is not to take the usual spotting pictures, side on, with clearly visible registration - I am more into creative photography and that is why I found myself here: AirPlanePictures - Creative Aviation Photography.

My interest in aviation began in the mid seventies when family trips to London always involved stopping at Heathrow for an hour to watch the movements. Photography is something I have always loved and the two interests fit together nicely. I also love listening to music and playing sport, but the only two I now play regularly are badminton and golf, the latter one, as once you have spent the money on membership you got to play and hey, someone has to chase those little white balls around!!

Airplane-Pictures.net founder. My interest in aviation dates back to 1997 when I started my microlight training. In 2004 I moved to Scotland and my active aviation hobby was substituted by spotting and aviation photography. A few years later I founded Airplane-Pictures.net website. The initial idea was to create a place to publish photos that I and my fellow photographers have taken, but the site took off when it was opened to public. In 2011 I moved back to the Czech Republic and I am looking forward to do some microlight flying again in 2012.

First became interested in aviation after my dad bought me two airfix kits when I was around 10 years old. Still remember what they were - a Sopwith camel and a Me-262. I continued to build kits for years after and since I got my first 35mm SLR camera when I was 20 I have been snapping planes ever since.

I'm Olmo Müller and I live in the Netherlands. My passion for aviation started at the age of 10, when my dad brought me to the airport on the Greek Island of Kefalonia. The approach to this airport was spectacular and it made a great impression on me. That's when I knew I wanted to do more with that. My hobby expanded with visiting airports more often and eventually buying an DSLR in 2008. After that my passion for photography and aviation grew even more. Now I aspire to become an ATP. If you see a photo in my portfolio you want to; know more about, purchase a larger version of or use for commercial purposes, please feel free to contact me!

I began my adventure with aerial photography in the mid eighties of last century. I have been working professionally in aviation, so I need not stand by the fence, to be able to pursue my hobby. My first analog camera was the Zenith 11, and next I was taking the photos by Olympus C750UZ. Sensor this camera was smaller than existing sensors mobile phones. I live in a small town in northern Poland.

I started the hobby in 1983, and was initially only "number-crunching". In 1985 I took my first picture of an aircraft at Copenhagen Airport.I mostly did standard side-on´s as paper print were very expensive. The digital revolution was a major turning point in my hobby. My first digital camera was the Sony 707 (an appropriate name I guess) which shot its very first airplane shot in Edinburgh in 2002. Today I enjoy trying different angles and exploring the wonders of photoshop.

I lead something of a nomadic existence in persuit of this hobby of ours. Living in between Glasgow and Edinburgh I don't have an airport to call my own and every visit is a round trip of at least 50 miles. Because of this I miss most of the good stuff.
I reckon my interest in aviation started with assembling plastic kits as a kid. Thereafter flights with family to far off places cemented my fascination.
Nowadays just give me a sunny day and a fence to stick my camera through and I'm happy.

Since I can remember I am an absolute lover of airplanes. The first time that my father move me to an airport fence I was absolutely impressed with how that noisy beasts leaves the ground with total insolence and challenging the physic laws. Involved in various activities and jobs in the aviation industry for nearly 20 years I also have some flight experience, only as a hobby.
Now, I'm enjoying the aviation, in my opinion, with a more intimate and personal approach, through a camera in my hands trying to show the machine-moment relationship, and where I prefer to consider myself as a begginer who still learning day by day.

Once is a mistake, twice is a style.
I try to think differently to the way other aviation photographers think, sometimes I am as guilty as the next person for making record shots but remember - what is common today is rare tomorrow.

I enjoy spending my days off flying around taking pictures from around the west coast when Seattle is it's normal gray and rainy looking skies.
