Inverness - 8th January 2008
Work dictated I head for Inverness, seeing I finished early and it was still a bit light I had my belated lunch-break at the airport. The weather was freezing, my car thermometer said zero degrees, my old bones said minus ten. Inverness is'nt the busiest airport in Scotland, but its good for photography, there is a security fence but it doesnt get in the way at all, a radio scanner is a handy tool to have here, 118.4Mhz is a useful frequency. I spent half an hour at INV, the place I parked was a small road next to the touch-down point of Runway 05, main movements were a Piper Tomahaek doing circuits and an EZY 737 lining up and departing, worth a visit is the museum located adjacent to the airport, not a huge display but worth searching out, only open at weekends but photos are possible through the fence of most exhibits if it is closed. Aircraft parked up on the main apron during my short stay, where Eastern Airways Jetstreams, FlyBE 146's and a Benair Let 410. With the light fading I left to travel south on the A9, and hit a nice snowstorm going over the mountains.
