Nice, bright livery. I like the starburst effect of the wingtip strobe.

I am travelling to Shanghai, China in May 09 with this aircraft.
It seems small for
an international flight. It worries me too that it has only 2 engines where long haul
flights should have 4 engines.
Am I right to be a little concern ??? Pls reply ASAP
Thank you :)

I sure I'll be corrected in this but here goes - 3 or 4 engines is only a requirement if
the aircraft is flying over an expanse of water like the Atlantic or Pacific and the
closest airport is more than 3 hours flying time away. As long as a twin engine aircraft
is within this 3 hours limit then all is fine.

It doesn't have to be over water (Polar regions for example) and the maximum time now is
4 hours (ETOPS240) I believe but that's not as common as the 3 hour rating, ETOPS180-207.

Nice and atmospheric!

Another fascinating aerial shot. I didn't realise just how many Soviet classics were on

Apperantly they are about to re-open for photo passes, so you get yourself booked and go
there. I got the photopass there four times while I lived in the UAE. Its an experince for
life to wander about on your own taking pictures on active ramps full of ruskie equipment.

Nice pic, it's definately somewhere I'd think of going if I could get ramp access.

I'm jealous, Martin. Saw aircraft this at EDI today, but couldn't get a clear shot.
Unusual angle! Nice.
