Hello! I would like to buy lens for my pentax. I am thinking about 120-400 mm f/4.5-5.6 APO DG OS HSM or Sigma 70-200 mm f/2.8 EX DG APO OS HSM + Teleconverter APO Sigma x2.0 EX DG. Is teleconverter a good idea? Did you use it at all? |

Hi Damian, I have no experience with the x2.0 TC. But, I do have, and use, both the 120-400 and the 70-200. I mostly use the 120-400 because of the reach (mm's). On the other hand, the image quality and focus speed of the 70-200 is considerably better than that of the 120-400. Anyway, if reach is what you are looking for, you should also consider the latest versions of the Sigma 50-500 and 150-500. From what I've heard (no personal experience), their image quality should be better than that of the 120-400. Hope this helps a bit. |

Hi Damian, totally agree with Hans. I have the 120-400 with the K5-II and 70-200 with the K3. 70-200 was previously installed on the K5-II. The image quality and focusing speed is much better with the 70-200 Regards

Hans I was thinking also about 50-500, but photos made by 500mm are not sharp enough (this info is based on what i've read on forums). I think I'll take 70-200. Thanks for your advices. Take care Hans and Ramon. |
