It's most clear at the part of the fuselage that is not lit. Completely gone on AP and still visible on Flickr.

I think that's imagination due to the relatively bright logo of A-P, I can still see that part on the A-P version as well |

Lars. I seem to be having a similar issue now. My colours are looking "pale on the upload compared to my photoshop / windows photo viewer.
This has caused a couple of rejections (rightfully so.)
Rejected. http://www.airplane-pictures.net/images/rejected-images/2014-5/409469.jpg
The very same image on flickr. https://www.flickr.com/photos/paulhumphries/14307097654/

Hey Paul,
Are you using the "Save to web" function in Photoshop? It looks like the color profile is somewhat funky too as there is a green tint to the shot. This happened to me as well way back when I just used the "Save As" function in Photoshop or exporting from Lightroom. |

Thanks Andre, I was using "save as."
I'll give "save to web" a blast.
:)

OK. Not sure I get this..... I used the "save to web" option and now the picture comes out just like it does on AP after the upload.....pale colours etc
Never had this problem up until this week...really confused on best option now? |

I have tracked back what I have been doing differently. Up until last week I always used Photoshop element 10 from Raw file to completed jpeg.
This week I started pre-processing with Lightroom 5 then final editing on Photoshop. I have noticed when transferring to Photoshop it now works on a Tiff file...I then hit save as web and the colours drop.
If I fully edit through Photoshop it works on the RAW file I hit save as web and its fine?
Any thoughts? |

Do you export to photoshop or click "edit in photoshop"?

That was going to be my next suggestion. I also send the file over in psd format, not tiff. I found when editing vibrant photos that the transition was smoother. Make sure you save as sRGB color profile. |

The file becomes a tiff automatically in Photoshop when transferred from Lightroom? |

If you're starting in Lightroom you have an option under the edit/preferences/external file handling that lets you chose format. You also say when transferring to Lightroom. I don't save the file from Lightroom, I do it via the "Save for web" in Photoshop. Make sure you look at the settings the first time you use the "Save for web" option. Make sure you set the sliders to maximum jpg and have the color profile as sRGB.
