Hi everyone!

How about increasing resolution pictures in 16:9 format to W: 1920pix x H1080pix? I think it would be a great solution to see even better quality pictures in wide format. It's my little dream to upload in higher resolution on AP.net in format 16:9 :)

I agree with you Pawel!

To bring it into commercial terms: most desktops are 1920x1080. This will mean more people are able to get A-P pictures on their background: this will certainly increase market power as all other sites fail to access this point nowadays.

I hope this time admins will agree with us :)

I totally approve! Skrydla.org allows 1920px shots and they are certainly stunning to view! For us full frame users it is a must as well! We have to show off that image quality :D

Exactly :) But again i see that no one answer in the topic who is responsible for the implementation :(

Martin please make this happen in test. For 10-14 days. You will see that is very good move :)

It won't be a very good move because everyone who has a point and shot camera and currently uploads at 1600px will then upload at 1920px. There are even members with decent kit who can't get images accepted at 1600px.

The only way this would work is by a member requesting permission to upload at that size.

Maybe mandatory screening can be introduced for 1920pix wide then? Just a suggestion to make it work.

I haven't uploaded elsewhere for a while now but I remember a time on JP that the max size was something like 1200px but you could ask for permission to upload 1600px images and you were then assessed on the current quality of your work and acceptance ratio.

I'm not saying it will be introduced here but if it were then I think something similar should be put in place.

I agree Daryll. Should I wrote email to Martin ? To what address I can write about permission?

Pawel it's not as easy as sending Martin an email and asking for permission. Changes would have to be made in the background, code re-written etc and that won't happen overnight, if at all. Team email address is at the bottom of the page.

Michael I realize that this is a lot of work. Of course I'm not expected that this will be done from day to day. But I will be very happy if I make it happen to start procedure :)

I've removed any posts not related to the topic. Too many threads are getting off topic and in to the 'bash the site' realm because a small minority of members disagree with some images that are accepted.

Pawel just to update you the increase in size is being discussed and may be introduced in the very near future.

Totally Agree, who wouldn't want to see a photo at a higher resolution if the quality was there?
