What is your opinion for the lense mentioned with a D7000 body? Every comment is welcomed! :) |

I had it on Canon 600D and can´t say it was good. It was "sharp" only on f/8 and higher, with f/5.6 there was some kind of mist or what, which made photos absolutely unusable. Acceptable images was from 130 to 180 mm only and f/8. It was slow, VC was blocking AF so fast images was not possible. Later it got jammed completely and I had to turn off and on the camera. It was real pain in the ***. When I finally mad Tamron return money I went and bought Canon 70-200 F/4 L and could not be happier.
I know its a Canon story, but it will maybe help you :) This post has been edited by Jakub Macillis on 11th September 2014 - 12:12 |

Hi, I am 100% sure, that I had the lens in the title. It was big fight with Tamron to get my money back, something you don´t forgot :)
I don´t know, if I have the high standards from my NX11 I had before, but it was worse, that that.
For example this is 1/800 f/5.6 http://i.imgur.com/74qixVj.jpg and this f/8 http://i.imgur.com/5CRwPjY.jpg
I don´t consider myself for a good and experienced photographer, but I didn´t like it at all and I think I am capable to make some decent images with NX11 and now L :)
I had to use more ISO, because f/8 had longer times. On the other hands, VC was great, but bit too powerful and later it blocked the AF as I wrote. I think it had bad AF, because the object was sometimes in focus and sometimes wasn´t.
Yes, I heard, that Canon 70-300 IS is worse, than Tamron and I cant imagine the shots from that, since I saw the Tamron´s. Maybe it was my faulty piece, but I wouldn´t recommend it on my experience. 70-200 L Is completely different, it is superb and now I am happy :-) |

Hi BlueDragonFS,
when I bought this lens I had the same issue like you after 3 weeks. I contacted Tamron and they advised me to send them the lens for repairs. I bought it at a shop here in Erfurt, so I decided to go to the dealer and he gave me a new one. Later he talked to me that Tamron had a "bad series" which they repair (afaik it was a manufactor issue). This happend 2 years ago and the replacement Tamron is still working fine (ok, the AF is a bit slow compared to Canon lens). |

Hi Norman,
mine was still and still repaired, even when vendor said it should be changed. So maybe it was my copy, but I don´t have trust in it so much, that I would buy it again :) That is my experience :) |

Well this doesn't sound that great, even worse after I bought the Tammy! :D So I am using it for about a week now on my D7000 and we have bad weather in Sofia so I can't test it out real good, but I have one accepted shot , and it seemed to me sharp and nice, don't know? I will continue shooting with it and I will keep this topic alive, because for the money I paid what I recive is amazing! Thanks for the replies boys, they were helpfull, and I am sorry it did not work out for you BlueDragonFS. This is the accepted photo: Attached photos: |

I am using it with my D7100, and I don´t have any problems (yet). I have been using it for about 6 months. And it is a good and light travel lens, At 300mm you shouldn´t go below F8. I think it is good value for money, and I´m keeping mine. But I only use it on a bright day. |

So today I went out to shoot around 1600LT and there wasn't that much traffic so I only have this one to show you. it is a f9 at 200mm ISO400. I don't see an issue but my monitor may be liyng to me. What do you think? Attached photos: |

Looks fine, although in my opinion it's a little bit soft. Love the WizzAir livery ;) This post has been edited by Jose I. Soria on 12th September 2014 - 21:46 |

This is one from yesterday, weather was bad, but sharpness IMO is okay. Due to the weather I did it a bit HDR, but it still works... Attached photos: |

Well, maybe it was my bad copy, but only in this thread, there is two people who had to return the copy. I think that should take into consideration too :-) Anyway, looks like you got the better one, congrats :)
I am attaching my shot from 70-200L, which is shot at 1/250, F/4 on 200mm and heavy crop. I am still learning with it, but I think in better experienced hands it can do miracles :-) Attached photos: |

It's a half decent upper entry level tele-zoom and that's about it. Between 200mm - 300mm don't expect miracles. There are superior lenses available which include the Sigma AF 100-300/4 EX DG (IF) APO or the Tokina AF 100-300/4 AT-X II (AF 340) which produce excellent results at all focal lengths and apertures. Short of a Tokina AT-X 300/4 AF (AF 304) or a 300/2.8 prime (maybe 400/4.5 depending on your camera brand) leave the Tamron Di VC USD alone as it's not going to give you the quality of image and being USD, it can have a tendency to hunt by which time the shot could be lost. |

I tried out both the Tamron and Nikon 70-300mm. If you have the choice between these two, go for the Nikon. The Nikon is slightly sharper than the Tamron and especially the focus speed is a lot better on the Nikon. The Nikon 70-300mm is more expensive but worth the money. |

I have Tamron 70-300 on my Sony a37- very good lens in my opinion. All summer I test him in Airport Ulyanovsk-Vostochny in different weather. This post has been edited by GermanSolo on 2nd December 2014 - 13:17 Attached photos: |

Well, I use it on a D7000 and though sometimes it gets stuck, it's OK for most of the time. Attached photos: |
