Hey guys...I saw what seemed to be an A380 today over Phoenix. The route it was flying, it looked to me to be the QF run to JFK, either from SYD or LAX, however, according to Wikipedia, QF no longer runs LAX-JFK..and according to flightradar24.com, the SYD-JFK flight arrived at 2:30 PM EST, and..should I mention? When I saw what I saw it was about 5-6 PM MST, so I'd say no.
Then I saw that Emirates runs an LAX-DUB flight taking off from about 3:30 PST which is about 4:30 local, and the plane I saw DID HAVE what looked like a red blot on the undercarriage so I think it might be Emirates, HOWEVER, Flightradar.com's map for that flight shows it flew over Northern Arizona, not Phoenix.
Lastly, Air France also had a LAX-CDG run leave about the same time as the Emirates one, and according to Flightradar.com this one DID fly over Phoenix...I am almost sure it was this one, but what still has me wondering was that apparent red blot under the plane. Is it possible FligthRadar24's map may have been wrong and I saw the Emirates plane indeed?
I will be on the lookout again today just in case. |

Could also be the Qantas A380 on Sydney-Dallas/Ft. Worth... But unlikely because in most cases the flight is heading for DFW via Mexico.
