Hi to all!
Really that I don't understand the several screening process of my pictures that I see in accordance with the standards of the website and only is seen the minors details to be refused, at this point I want to open here a discus to see with all people what thinking about. Always of course open to learn and improve my skills because the main problem comes from editing with Adobe Photoshop and don´t make a 2 hours per picture of edition.
Contrast of the photo is low. http://www.airplane-pictures.net/images/rejected-images/2015-2/526782.jpg
Digital noise is visible. specially in dark areas like engines http://www.airplane-pictures.net/images/rejected-images/2015-2/526905.jpg
Main object is not sharp http://www.airplane-pictures.net/images/rejected-images/2015-2/526796.jpg
Main object is blurred. http://www.airplane-pictures.net/images/rejected-images/2015-2/526779.jpg
Incorrect exposure - too dark. Lacks of color and contrast. Tail is over-sharpened. Shadow needs elevation. http://www.airplane-pictures.net/images/rejected-images/2015-2/526208.jpg
Nose is bit over-sharpend(white halo is visible around airline title) while tail is blurred. http://www.airplane-pictures.net/images/rejected-images/2015-2/526207.jpg
Over-sharpened. Nose portion quite blurred. http://www.airplane-pictures.net/images/rejected-images/2015-2/524470.jpg
Casually yesterday in another way I have try to upload this picture taken with a Panasonic Lumix of 3 years old and was enter to the first try :/ http://www.airplane-pictures.net/photo/526808/ec-igk-iberia-airbus-a321/

Hola Alberto,
are you using the correct color space (sRGB) in your pictures? When I open them in PS it says that color space is BenQ T2200HD... If I convert them to sRGB they look way better, without the low contrast and digital noise issues. Besides, reducing the image size to 1200 or 1024 pixels will also solve blur problems (blur is actually there in some of the pics) and you will need less sharpening, avoiding the jagged edges (oversharpening) that you can see in most of the pictures, mostly along the edges of the titles (purple etihad is the best example). Of course that I don't agree with some of the reasons to reject the pictures, but with what I've said I think that your acceptance rate will be improved, and those steps will only take in the worst case 5-10 more minutes per picture.
Hope it helps. Saludos. This post has been edited by Manuel Domínguez on 24th February 2015 - 23:19 |

Yep, that sRGB. You can see the change in dark areas, now they are darker and contrast is better. Maybe you can light up darkest areas like landing gear or inside the engines, but not much or you'll have digital noise problems like in your 2nd example (Air Berlin) and it could looks unreal. If you resize the picture to a smaller size you will also avoid the "Main object is blurred" and the picture should be accepted if you sharpen it properly. Avoid any jagged edge or black/white halos (oversharpening), similar to what you can see around the "travellers welcome" sticker on the Etihad (black halos, like in some cockpit windows as well) or around Air Berlin title in the panning (white halo). |
