Hi, Editors criticize jaggies in a photo, my photo in original has 4300 pixels in width, when I change it into a width of 1600 pixels as required, with Photoshop 7, then there appear jaggies and the file is much more smaler.

What can I do to prevent the jaggies?

What might cause the jaggies too is the way you resize the photo. I only have experience with Photoshop CS6 but it should work the same;

Go to 'Image Size'; change the file into the proportions you want to have it and choose 'Bicubic (best for smooth gradients)' instead of 'Bicubic Automatic'.

Might help too.
