I came across an e-book which is a fairly good guide on how to get the best out of Canon's DPP. Digital Photo professional is Canon's RAW converter program which is supplied free when you buy a Canon Camera. DPP is a good start for anyone wishing to start using RAW, without all the distracting bells and whistles of more advanced RAW converter programs such as AdobeRAW, Lightroom, Aperture or the like.
The e-book cost all of £7, it weighs in at less than 2MB and can be downloaded here http://www.andrewsgibson.com/blog/understanding-dpp/
I am a long time user of DPP, preferring the simplicity of DPP compared to AdobeRAW and Lightroom... The fact that DPP and the updates are free are also a great incentive for a canny Scot. I have learned a few new things just from the first look at the book, so the money has been well spent already. |
