I had a low overcast day at Narita...clouds, fog, atmospheric deliciousness. I posted a 787 that got 50% 5's and 50% 1's. Down it came. Your thoughts on this before I post it to the shooting gallery please.

The one star ratings are supposedly protest votes by the Quality Police, but in fact they are endorsements, they all count towards your personal ratings.

Personally, it's under exposed but considering the conditions you got the shot where most would have not taken their cameras out of the bag.

There may be some digital noise evident in the trail, especially towards the top of the frame. Personal choice as it may be the true conditions of the trail.

The bottom line is, that "we" are so accustomed to seeing sunny shots that anything out of the norm is immediately wrong.

Well, it shows how the conditions were. Is it worth an upload? That you decide. Do you think it represents your quality? If it were a 737 would you upload that? If I were a screener, technically I would not accept it due to being underexposed, and having noise visible. It's not up to my personal taste but that would not be a factor for me.. As a FM I would not choose to upload because in my opinion it's like a snapshot which does not add to my portfolio and it does not reflect the quality I would be after as a FM.. So, you decide :)

And non-sunny shots can be breathtaking, this just doesn't take mine..

Personally, if that were mine then it would not consider uploading it In saying that it does clean up quite well so maybe it has merits.

I am surprise that no one else has not joined in with their thoughts.

Wallace,

I agree....not worthy in my mind...just couldn't get what I was looking for with all the gray. Andras...very good points as well.

Thanks guys.

A bit too washed out to be acceptable in my eyes...

It would have been a nice/interesting shot for AP.net if the sky wasn't this grey and dull in my opinion.

Still a cool shot for a personal collection or website.
