Shackleton 1722 had her 50th anniversary "party" at Ysterplaat Air Force Base on 23.02.2008. She landed in Cape Town on 26.02.1958. She is the only flying Shackleton left in the world and we celebrated the event with an engine runup. After her engines were shut down, she was showered by the fire engines of the Air Force fire brigade.
