They wet-leased for a number of years to third-world airlines, then operated IT flights to the Med. and Canada in the early 'eighties. I worked for Midland at that time.

I feel old when I come across spotters who have not seen a B707!
They used to be as common as B737s are now.

When I was a small boy our family home was less than 1mile from EMA and when these aeroplanes took off, it was possible to see the glass windows vibrate with deviation of approx 3-4mm causing a loud rattling from the window itself.
