Atlantic Airways
National airline of the Faroe Islands, Atlantic Airways, operated the first revenue flight with their newly acquired Airbus A319 today. The addition of an Airbus to the fleet is a big leap for the airline that have previously only operated the BAe 146-series airliners. With the extension of the runway at home base Vagar the airline was able to upgrade to the much more modern Airbus.
The aircraft, serial 5079, first flew from Finkenwerder on march 9th and was delivered to Vagar last week. Today the aircraft made its first scheduled flight to Copenhagen as RC450 arriving bang on time.
