The Bomber Command Tribute was flown onto this site at Beachy Head Eastbourne East Sussex by, Royal Air Force Pilots, Glenn Cole and Jay Berry, with their Operations Crew in the RAF Boeing Chinook HC3 [352] ZH899 [cn.M-4478]. Standing in the foreground with his son is Joe Williams Bomber Crew, who with his Committee campaigned tirelessly to have the Tribute placed at this truly symbolic site. Beachy Head was the last sighting for some of the Bomber Crews of their homeland. The Tribute is to the 110,000 aircrew of Bomber Command, and to remember that 55,573 of them gave their lives.
