Flyglobespan
The Scotland based travel company Globespan announced that it has been placed into administration on Dec 16th, 2009. It's in house airline Flyglobespan is also affected and all Flyglobespan scheduled flights were cancelled.
The airline was started in 2002 and operated from five UK airports offering flights to the main European holiday destinations as well as Canada and Florida. It also leased many of it's aircraft to other airlines notably Air India and Oman Air.
Employing 600 staff the company reported an operating profit last year of £1.2m but was unable to conclude a financing deal with investors.
Ryanair are currently offering "rescue fares" to any Flyglobespan customers who may find themselves stranded.

Always sad to see another collapse,but alot of people have said for a while it was
inevitable.
