With 160 passengers and 8 crew a Tupolev Tu-154 of Dagestan Airlines crash-landed at Moscow Domodedovo Airport. The aircraft served flight CH372 from Moscow Vnukovo to Makhachkala Airport (MCX) in Dagestan Capital.
According to the Federal Air Transport Agency, the Tupolev pilot reported the failure of two engines at 14:28 , and at 14:41 asked for an emergency landing. Pilots originally planned an emergency landing back at Vnukovo, but changed for Domodevovo later. The aicraft lost the third engine during landing and overran the runway. Fuselage split to pieces, but no fire or explosion followed.
At least 2 people were killed and 8 wounded. Some sources report number of injured as high as 40 out of 168 people on board.
Dagestan Airlines was rebranded recently and is now called South East Airlines. It operates a fleet of 6 Tu-154. Aviation Safety Network reports the crashed aircraft was a registration RA-85744.
