The first Vans RV12 to fly in the UK and Europe in general (and the 3rd outside the USA, the other 2 being in Australia) took to the air on the 5th January 2011 from Scone Airport.
The aircraft is seen here returning from its second flawless test flight flown by its owner Keith Boardman assisted by the highly experienced pilot Dai Heather Hayes.
Because this is the first RV12 to fly in the UK, the aircraft has to undergo several more hours test flying and a check flight by the LAA before it and the type receives the final authorisation to fly.
