The Nato Days in Ostrava Airshow evolved in one of the major airshows in central Europe over its 8 years old history. The extensive list of participants from Czech Republic, Poland, Great Britain, Netherlands, Spain, Germany and USA atracted tens of thousands visitors this year. Moldovian PM visits Prague in Air Moldova Tu-134

Government of Moldova, with the Modovian Prime Minister Mrs.Zinaidu Greceanii, visited Prague giving spotters a rare opportunity to see Tupolev 134 of Air Moldova in Prague. Patricie, Suchy and Oldřich Chmel captured the arrival of this beautiful bird for A-P.net. The aircraft is expected to depart on Sept 3rd at 8:30 PM.
Record-breaking Tatra T-101 about to fly after 70 years

Almost an exact copy of the record-breaking Tatra T-101 aircraft (1938) has been produced in Kunovice, Czech Republic. After long building stage the plane was rolled out and awaits Czech Aviation Authority certification.Ringhoffer–Tatra Ltd dealt with the production of carriages and coaches and motor vehicles before WW2. In 1935 the aeronautical department was established which initially focused on licence-building of Bü–131 Jungmann before producing own aircraft design. TATRA T–101.2, which you can see in the pictures below, is the second example of the famous TATRA T–101 aeroplane, which was the holder of several world height records in its day. Most notably, the aircraft held a world record in distance flying, having flown from Prague to Al-Khartoum, a distance of 4,340 km.Tatra T–101.2 is fitted with an original Tatra T–100 engine (s.n. 006, produced in 1938), on which a major overhaul was carried out with the help of TATRA Ltd and the National Technical Museum in Prague. T–101.2 was produced according to the original documentation of the T–101.1 aeroplane and it differs only a little from the original aeroplane.For more information and updates on the project visit http://aviators.cz/index_en....
Finnair goes "retro"

Following the trend amongst long established airlines, Finnair has painted A319 OH-LVE in a stunning retro scheme. This celebrates the 85th anniversary of Finnair operations and re-creates a livery worn by a Convair aircraft in the 1950's. Apparently the crew aboard also wear retro fashions. Suchy and Patricie captured this beauty for us at Prague.
Saudi Arabian charter paid visit to Prague

Saudi Arabian Airlines business charters to Prague are always special. They are always operated by 'big' aircraft like 747SP on June 30th or 777-200ER on July 27th and always arrive in nice weather. What a bizjets!

Mi-8 helicopter crashed in Slovakia

Mil Mi-8 helicopter registration OM-ORO operated by Techmont crashed in Low Tatra mountains on July 3rd 2008. Techmont is a supplier of heavy load transports operating not only in Slovakia, but also in Poland and Czech Republic. Two crew members were killed in the accident, one sustained major injuries.

International Flying Display 2008 - Hradec Kralove

It's been six long years since a major airshow took place at Hradec Kralove. June 14th and 15th, 2008 saw the International Flying Display where great pilots from different countries displayed. Taking part where the Breitling Jet Team flying their wonderfull Aero L-39s, Péter Besenyei on Edge-450, Uli Demblisky with YAK-52, Flying Bulls team on Z-50 and many more.
