2009's airshow at Kemble was successfully changed to an all weekend show, from the traditional Sunday "Fathers Day" one day event. All in all the layout of the static areas was much better than last year with photographic access to all aircraft on the southside. Unfortunately due to operational commitments the C-17 did not make the show, but this is understandable. There was still plenty on offer though, with the likes of the Sea Vixen, Vulcan and Typhoon, just to name a few. Also some great displays from the Reds, Yakovlevs, Team Guinot and the marvelous Swift Glider Team. Even the USAF joined us this year with a flypast with the Boeing KC-135R.After what was forecast as a glorious weekend, the weather did not play ball and we were reduced to just a few glimpses of the sun.Congratulations to the Kemble team for giving us another great show!!

Trevor Reoch attended this years air show at Cosford and has submitted this report. Sunday 14th June 2009 saw the annual Airshow at RAF Cosford, this was the first of 3 RAF shows for the 2009 season and its star attraction was the restored Vulcan B2 Bomber! The Vulcan effect, well the show was a sellout with crowds estimated to exceed 58200 and the gates closing to the public at 13.30 hours due to crowding.Other attractions at the show from the RAF;Eurofighter Typhoon, Chinook, King Air, Hawk display, Red Arrows and the BBMF.Other teams included;RN Black Cats, Army Blue Eagles, The Yakolov's, Turbulent display team, and the the Blades. Other participants included, Scandinavian Historic Flight P51 Mustang a private Spitfire in welsh colours and the ex RAF Vampire. The show was an outstanding success, but undoubtedly the star was Vulvan XH558 (G-VLCN), personally I have never seen an entire airshow crowd stand to view a flying aircraft before Cosford 2009.
