Castle Air Museum in Atwater, CA - Built by Kawasaki, the KAQ-1 is a radio controlled, unmanned miniature aircraft. It was launched from a ramp, and if not destroyed, was recovered by parachute. The parachute was rigged to the engine mounts, so even if the drone was damaged or destroyed, the engine could be recovered and reused.
The KAQ-1 was delivered to the armed forces of both the U.S. and Japan for use during the 1950's.
