The close of another chapter for Naval Aviation history at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island where this Grumman EA-6B Prowler BuNo 163890, attached to the “Garudas” of Electronic Attack Squadron (VAQ) 134 flew for the last time from Naval station as it completed it's Sundown Ceremony flight and officially got retired from the US Navy. This Grumman-built electronic warfare jet, which entered the fleet in 1971, is being replaced by the Boeing EA-18G Growler.

I took photos of BUNO 163890 at NTD Point Mugu on 25 September 2015. The BUNO was in red
which alerted me something was different about the aircraft. The EA-6B was parked on the
crosswind runway ramp on practice Friday before the weekend Blue Angels airshow with 165
thousand attendance. I worked at Pt. Mugu 29 years, in Flight Test Division 12 of those
years. Was in Naval Aviation 1950-'59. I will be uploading in the next few weeks to the
web.
