I am stunned by the pinpoint sharpness and clarity. Judging by the date, would this be a
scan from a print or slide? In which case, the clarity is even more astonishing!

Actually this image was scanned from a negative. Kodak 120 film is almost 4 times larger
then 35mm and can produce excellent resolution and detail. Long before digital the Pentax
6x7 medium format camera was the workhorse of serious photographers who needed to make big
enlargements. Only 20 megapixel cameras or more (like the Canon 5D Mark 2) can equal the
quality of 120 film. A tripod mount and small aperature combined with a long exposure,
produced the starlike pinpoint sharpness that you see on the wingtips of this 757.
