Hey, my name is Marius and I'm 19 years old. I live in Dortmund. Though , I am a native of Geilenkirchen , a little town in the western area of Germany. It's very close to the dutch border and not that far from Cologne and Düsseldorf.

Aviation has always been something special for me - when I was a child it was magical for me to watch through the terminal windows to observe all the different planes in their colorful liveries. Furthermore I grew up next to the NATO-Airbase Geilenkirchen with it's loud AWACS 707 - so airplanes were always linked to my everyday life. I started taking photos of airplanes back in 2010 when I bought my first camera , the Canon 450D. The 70-300 IS USM followed as my lens. After quite a while I stopped being satisfied with my photos and my old equipment , so I made up my mind about how I could improve this. As a result of that , I took several jobs when I had vacation to afford some new equipment.My first L-lens , the 100-400 , was a major step in this change and brought me to what I do today - creative photography. The possibilites it brought showed me that there is another world of aviation photography , beside the 90° sideshots I was used to. In addition to that , this step in quality also had affect on my interest in non-aviation photography , which now replaced aviation photography as my major hobby and possibly will be my job when I graduate from high school in June 2015. As a result of that , I began to work again - just to afford new equipment! But hey , it was absolutely worth it - I was never so satisfied with my photos like I am today. My eyes only work as a viewfinder for my camera and I can't help it... :-)
