Photographer's remark

A Coldstream Helicopters Bell 212 prepares to lift off with a 100 foot long-line attached to fight the local wildfires. Using a 350 gallon Bambi bucket these machines can move a lot of water in a day. Note the single pilot flying left seat due to the external load on the hook.

That's a lot of gallons to lift in a days firefighting !

It adds up to around 32,000 gallons per shift or one third of a million pounds of water
dropped on the fire or into holding pools for the ground crews to use in their high
pressure sprayers or sprinklers.
