I believe this is a spitfire LF mk IXe not IXc.
The difference is that the "e" had a
.5 machine gun mounted inboard of the cannon. (Hence the stub cannot be seen in the photo.
If it were a "c" the stub would be outboard of the cannon and therefore visible).

With the above comments in mind, It was built as an LF.IXc at Castle Bromwich, Early 1944
and in some photos it does have the squared off wing tips of the LF models, however the
wings in this model have the wing tips fitted, so it would be fair to assume that this
aircraft is a bit of a mongrel, so we will keep it as a LF.IXc, but it may be an LF.IXe.
