This aircraft is a late model F-105G Thunderchief. When they entered service they were the largest single engine jet fighter in history. 833 F-105's were built spread over several models. They had a 14,000 lb bomb carrying capacity and could fly at very high speed at low altitude. They were the main bomb carrying aircraft for the USAF during the first few years of the Vietnam War flying over 20,000 missions.
