This Beaver sure looks different on these large low pressure tundra tires than she does on her floats in the summer.

Looks like shes had a paint job, as well as the land anywhere tyres fitted.

Nice old girl. These tundra tires can operate with very very low air pressure allowing
bush planes to land on soft sand, soggy fields, gravel bars in rivers etc without digging
into the ground or damaging the tires. Some crazy bush pilots even begin the wheel
landing skimming the water if there is not enough beach to land on. They keep their air
speed high as the wheels run on the top of the water and simply run the plane up onto the
beach before slowing completely. They then get up to minimum speed on land before
skipping across the water on takeoff to give the plane a bit of lift before they can
safely rotate. Great planes.
