These lovely Agusta/Westland CH-149 Cormorant Search and Rescue aircraft are flown by the RCAF exclusively for SAR work. They operate from several Air Force Bases across Canada. This photo shows the dual rescue hoists, hoist spot light and some of the rescue setup inside the helicopter. The crew member in the orange jump suit is a SAR TECH or search and rescue technician. These guys spend years in training becoming very good at swimming, skydiving, rescue procedures and paramedic level medical training. They say it costs the Royal Canadian Air Force over a million dollars to complete the full training of a SAR TECH. 149906 was part of both the static and flying displays at the Abbotsford International Airshow 2019. This was her first time on the site.
