This "Gustav" was assembled from at least three machines: W.Nr.14232 (Messerschmitt GmbH plant in Regensburg), plus W.Nr.10333 and W.Nr.10335 (Erla Maschinenwerk GmbH from Leipzig). All of them were released in 1942 and previously fought in the JG54 squadron near Leningrad and Novgorod, were repeatedly repaired, and with the rearmament of JG54 on the Focke-Wulf Fw 190A, they went to JG5 beyond the Arctic Circle. The aircraft number 10333 was flown by the commander of the JG54, Hannes Trautloft.
