I was 16 when the Italian Air Force retired the Spillone ("Big Pin", as it was nicknamed due to its shape). I saw it flying only once, and I feared I would have never been able to see an airworthy one again. Luckily, due to the Italian Air Force 100th Anniversary the Black Beauty from Florida was brought in Italy for a big airshow, allowing me to fulfill my dream of seeing a flying Spillone! This is the first flight of an F-104 in Italy, 19 years after its retirement.
