On May 10 came the strongest solar storm in 21 years. I was staying in cloudy Milwaukee, so I got a rental car & drove 2h west to the Don Q Inn near Dodgeville, Wisconsin where a preserved C-97 (Boeing 377 predecessor) sits. Here I waited until the aurora got active. The plane was backlit by the hotel lights, I used my flashlight to the brightest setting to show the livery.
