I am travelling to Shanghai, China in May 09 with this aircraft.
It seems small for
an international flight. It worries me too that it has only 2 engines where long haul
flights should have 4 engines.
Am I right to be a little concern ??? Pls reply ASAP
.
Thank you :)

I sure I'll be corrected in this but here goes - 3 or 4 engines is only a requirement if
the aircraft is flying over an expanse of water like the Atlantic or Pacific and the
closest airport is more than 3 hours flying time away. As long as a twin engine aircraft
is within this 3 hours limit then all is fine.

It doesn't have to be over water (Polar regions for example) and the maximum time now is
4 hours (ETOPS240) I believe but that's not as common as the 3 hour rating, ETOPS180-207.
