I never noticed anything special with this image untill converting it to black and white and adding extra contract. This however brought out much clearer the shockwaves (or whatever they are called) created from the flaps. The first time I have ever noticed this.

Thanks for the comments guys. Can anyone explain the "shockwaves" from the tip of the
flaps? Have never seen it like this before.

They can be seen in low light situations a lot, on photos. LHR summer evenings come to
mind as there is so much traffic there it's hard to miss this "phenonemon". I would
hazard a guess and call this the actual "wake" the ac leaves behind, although I've
never read it's visible on pictures before. I only came across it myself a few years ago,
when I turned digital. Don't believe I have a non-digital image of it.
