From The Polish Aviation Museum's web site. "The Bf-109 was recovered from the Trzebuń lake, Northern Poland where it crashed on May 28, 1944, flying a routine training flight, killing young pilot Ernst Pleins. Recovered wreck was restored by the Foundation. The Bf 109 G-6 is a very rare exhibit.." The aircraft carries the code red 3 and the werke number 163306..
