An un-identified B-26 Marauder sits in the Planes of fame compound awaiting it's turn for restoration. Other aircraft in this compound were a F9F Panther, a B25 Mitchell, an SBD Dauntless and a TBM Avenger.
We were told that prior to restoration the aircraft were lifted off the ground by crane and left dangling for a while to let the lodgers drop out. Never let the truth get in the way of a good story!

It's probably one of the birds recovered from Alsaka in the 70's. They recovered 3
birds. 2 were in bad shape. I have always wondered where and what has happened to those
aircraft. They are beautiful aicraft, the B-26. I have the Air Classics magizine that
shows the recovery of these aircraft. I'm surprised no information has been given out
about these birds for 30+ years.

The 'Million Dollar Valley Three' can now be found at, 1 - Kermit Weeks, Fantasy of
Flight, Polk City, Florida. 2 - Akron-Canton MAPS Museum, Ohio. and 3 - PIMA Air and Space
Museum, Tucson, Arizona. Both 2 and 3 are currently under restoration for display. There
are several other B-26's around including 'Flak Bait' at the Smithsonian, one at the Le
Bourget, Paris, Air Museum, One at the National USAF Air Museum in Dayton, Ohio, and other
'wrecks' that are in the line-up for at least partial restoration, such as one at Hill
Air Force Base Museum, Ogden, Utah. Et Al. Hope this helps anybody that would like to see
something.

Anyone else see the SB2C in the background?

I don't know when this pic was taken, but, in the early to mid 1970's. "Mahoneys
Junkyard" had a "B" model in the storage yard. This might be the plane.
When I
asked about it a couple of years ago, I was told the they NEVER had a Marauder. I suspect
that, since there were no parts availible, the plane was scrapped.
