Hallo,

i have taken some shots of fighterjets at Berlin Air Show yesterday. Always with the classic one f/8.

While checking Exif data of many pics here i noticed that many photographers using low aperture sizes like f/5.6 or f/6.3.

What settings you are using while hunting for fast movers?

Thanks

Christian

The answer is in the relationship between aperture and shutter speed. Understanding this is a fundimental element in photography basically a fast shutter speed will lead to a wide aperture and vice versa unless the photographer had the camera set to Program mode...

The trade off is a fast shutter speed with a low depth of field which means some parts of the aircraft may not be in focus.

The fist thing that any photographer should do, is understand the relationship between aperture, shutter speed and ISO... and then start using that lesson to ones advantage.
