Hey guys, i have been thinking about extending my zoom from 70-200 to something like 400 or 600, I was looking to some options, either the Sigma 150-500 or the Canon 2x Extender, I would like to know what solution do you guys think is the better!!

The 70-200 f/4 with Extender 2x will retain autofocus only with EOS 1D series, EOS 5D mk III and EOS 7D mk II bodies. The rest of bodies will work only in manual focus with this set. With a Extender 1.4x you can go to 280mm retaining autofocus. If you really need longer distances, then Sigma 150-500 will work fine, but I don't know about image quality of this lenses.

Exactly,
The Extender 1.4x takes 1 f-stop while Extender 2x takes 2 f-stop. The effective maximum aperture on 70-200 f/4 will be f/5.6 and f/8 with 1.4x and 2x Extenders respectively.
Is there a way to make it focus: cover the three extra contacts between extender and lenses with a tape. The camera will think there's no extender attached and will try to focus. I wouldn't recommend this as the lens autofocus will become slow.

Pedro, I don't know what's your budget but Sigma 150-500 seems to be the cheaper solution (€ 778) for this focal distance you need (400 to 600mm). Another sugestions are Tamron 150-600 (€ 1099), Sigma 50-500 (€ 1395) and Canon 100-400 (€ 1598) Prices from colorfoto.pt
