What soft exactly means?

Hello !

As always, some of my photos are not accepted.

Well, may it be so (anyway every screener has different opinions and I find that it is often vague)... I think the rejections are often excessive. But it's my opinion and not the subject...

Today I would just like to know what's exactly "soft"? It's the subject of rejection of my last photo (in attachment) and I have difficulty to understand what is not correct with it?

Thanks, "Pharewell".

Bon Soir!

Hey Man, so basically is that "Chalky" kindo of effect, when it comes to Matte liveries is even more complex, but in a nutshell is the result of excessive Denoise (Not sure if this is the case) depending on the equipment there's a thing line between Noise and Softness.

I'mn far from being a screener and just like you I find mixed feelings when a photo is rejected, but you know... it happens.. now back to your question I'd say you may see it soft is by the numbers near the flaps and by the wing tip same in the flaps.

Hope this helps.

Cheers

Hi Sebastián !

So I understand the POV of the screeners about a "soft" picture now. And you right, for this shot I didn't remove noise (or add sharpness).

I'll try to add sharpness and post a picture, thanks !
