Author's remark: This type served for a period of 37 years starting from 1953 till 1990 in Indian Air Force fleet. This is a two seat basic trainer type of aircraft and is a metal fully aerobatic aircraft with a fixed under wing carriage and steerable tail wheel. This was Hindustan Aeronautics Limited's first aircraft of original design. These types replaced the Tiger Moth and was extensively used for training of over 5000 pilots of IAF, Indian Navy and Indian Army.
