Hi! I’m Kuba (formally Jakub, but I can’t stand that form and I try to use it as rarely as it gets) and I’m 22 years old. I’m living in a small city about 60 kilometers from Poland’s busiest airport (WAW), which makes me constantly moan about on how far away I am from the airport fence, so that I can’t photograph planes as often as I would like to.
The passion of planespotting began in 2014 for me – it was when I discovered the existance of FlightRadar24 and noticed that almost all west-bound departures from RWY29 at WAW were flying directly over my house. Intrigued by that, albeit almost a full year later, I finally ended up on the spotter hill for the very first time – at that point with a crap superzoom camera (that as I thought was perfect for the purpose - but it obviously wasn't, as you can see by my first pictures here), but still enjoyed shooting to the maximum. Posting photos here created sort of a challenge for me, and now I’m here, in 2019 - thousands of photos later (hundreds of those rejected, but that’s part of the process I guess?), with much better equipment, much more experience and with many fantastic stories that came along.
On a side note, I’m also a bit (well, not a bit, a whole lot) depressed by the surrounding world, I love low-quality jokes and being sarcastic all the time. I'm studying about the United States at University of Warsaw (would be better to study in the US itself, I know, but that's kinda impossible), I'm a freak on rock/metal music of all sorts and a huge supporter of Juventus FC (a club that sometimes gets me depressed even more, thanks Juve).
I’m open for photo requests, but won’t hide that I wouldn’t want money for those, so do not expect me to give anything for free if that’s for commercial use. I do give pictures for free though, but only for computer wallpaper, so feel free to ask for those if you want.
